I never really thought I had that much of a problem with age spots or skin discoloration until I had time for my Mary Kay Timewise Miracle set to work “the miracle.” Once my adult acne surrendered and my fine lines and wrinkles had cleared up – I noticed some discoloration on my cheeks and around previously acne troubled skin areas.

Gasp! Age spots and acne marks! I kind of freaked out. I thought fine lines and wrinkles were a girls worst enemy.. then I find out there’s more!?

At first I was a bit concerned because I had heard of people trying similar regimes to even out skin tone and reduce discoloration – but those products seemed to bleach and discolor skin in the opposite direction. Yuck.

I did my research and found testimonials that said the Mary Kay Even Complexion Essence was gentle enough on your skin that it would only even the skin tone to it’s natural color, rather than new freaky bleach color.

As for my personal test, I used the Even Complexion Essence day and night (or just most nights – no one is prefect) for 4 weeks and did not see much change. I was discouraged. But, it didn’t make me break out with acne and seemed to play well with the other products, so I kept using it.

Finally, at 8 weeks I noticed definite fading of the dark age spots and way less discoloration of the acne areas. By 12 weeks, you could hardly see the spots! Everything was how I remembered it (10 years ago). (Later I found out I could have expedited this awesome improvement by combining it with the Even complexion mask and microderm abrasion set.)

Then came the real test – the sun! Any of you who suffer with age spots know how the spots tan much quicker than the rest of your skin – making them really obvious during that time of year you wish you could use less face makeup.

I’m happy to say, my skin has passed with flying colors – I tanned evenly and naturally (using broad spectrum SPF, of course) for the first time in years!
